Stone passports
Every stone that leaves the studio carries a passport: a plain document that says exactly what the stone is.
What it says
Species and variety, carat, cut and dimensions, origin as far as it is knowable, treatment stated in full words, and the certificate number when a lab has seen it.
Why it matters
A stone with a passport can be insured accurately, resold honestly, and reset anywhere. Mostly it matters because you should know what you own.
If it is lost
We keep a copy of every passport we have ever written. Write with your name and roughly when the work was made, and we reissue it at no charge.
