A short history
The modern round brilliant was worked out mathematically in 1919, when Marcel Tolkowsky published the angles that return the most light. Every round since is an argument with that math, and the math usually wins.

No corners to chip, symmetry from every angle, and brilliance that hides small inclusions and faint color better than any other cut. The safest daily shape there is.
The setting it wants
Anything. Six prongs for security, four to show more stone, a bezel for hands that work. Round is the only shape that has never met a mount it could not live in.
What ratio should a round diamond be?
We buy 1.00. Outside that window the shape starts reading as a different cut, or worse, as a mistake. The passport lists exact millimeter dimensions so you can check our judgment.
How many facets does a round cut have?
57 or 58. More facets mean more sparkle but smaller flashes; fewer mean bolder, slower light. Neither is better; they are different personalities.
Is round more expensive per carat?
Round commands the highest price per carat of any shape: the most rough is lost cutting it and the most buyers want it. Every other shape is quietly better value.
Natural or lab grown in this shape?
Both, cut to the same standard. Lab rough makes larger round stones attainable; the passport names the origin either way, in the same type size as everything else.
